According to the film industry on July 16th, Cha Seung-won has recently decided to join director Park Chan-wook’s new project.

This new project is Park Chan-wook‘s first directorial work since “Decision to Leave” and is known to be a “lifelong project” that he has been preparing for years. It is a thriller based on an original work, and top actors such as Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran and Yoo Yeon-seok have already been listed in the lineup.

This will be the second collaboration between Cha Seung-won and Park Chan-wook. They recently worked together on Netflix’s original work “Uprising”, where Park Chan-wook participated as a producer and co-writer. It is scheduled to be released within the year.

There is also considerable interest in Cha Seung-won’s reunion with Lee Byung-hun, with whom he starred in the 2022 drama “Our Blues”. The two had little screen time together in the drama, which heightens expectations for their acting synergy in this new project.

Meanwhile, Cha Seung-won will first meet the public through Disney+’s original series “The Tyrant”, premiering on August 14th. This series is the new work of director Park Hoon-jung, with whom Cha Seung-won previously collaborated on the film “Night in Paradise”.
